Design Guidelines

We have prepared award-winning design guidelines for historic districts, new corridors, and entire communities throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Gateways, corridors, commercial development, even fast-food restaurants and service stations can be built in ways that honor local character.

We write design guidelines for historic districts, commercial corridors, and entire communities. Our firm is one of several in the country that specialize in these publications; our projects are generally located throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the United States. We take pride in producing attractive, well-illustrated, and clearly written manuals that also are created to be put on community websites. Many of our design guidelines reports have won regional and national awards for their applicability, innovation, and user-friendliness. We understand the important and challenging role that Architectural Review Boards play in a community and we are committed to create guidelines that make their work easier.
