Kathleen O. Frazier, AIA Principal Kathy is a founding member of the firm and is the Principal-in-Charge of architectural projects. She has extensive experience in historic preservation and community redevelopment projects. She currently oversees the design services for the Virginia Main Street Program, an affiliate of the National Trust for Historic Preservation's National Main Street Center. Her projects have won numerous design awards, including a national Palladio Award as well as ones from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Virginia Main Street Program, the Preservation Alliance of Virginia (PAV), and the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities (APVA). Her work has been featured in a broad range of magazines including Virginia Living, Traditional Building, Urban Land and Southern Living. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia's architecture program. |

William T. Frazier, AICP Principal Co-founder of Frazier Associates, Bill's area of specialty is in urban planning with an emphasis on design guidelines and corridor studies throughout the southeastern United States. Bill is a frequent speaker at local and regional conferences on community planning; his projects have been recognized for excellence with awards at the national and state level. Bill is also an architectural historian, and has spent more than 25 years integrating his community revitalization expertise with his background in historic preservation. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Bill went on to get a Masters of Planning and a Masters of Architectural History. |

Peter Aaslestad Senior Associate, Director of Recording Historic Structures For over a decade, Peter's architectural career has been exclusively dedicated to the science of recording historic buildings, specifically integrating photogrammetric measured drawings with photography. In 1992, he introduced digital photogrammetry as a consulting service to architects in the northeastern United States through his own firm, Innovative Architectural Technologies in New Haven, Connecticut. He joined Frazier Associates in 1996 and has since expanded his service nationwide. A featured speaker at national building industry conferences, Peter is considered a pioneer in the field of building documentation. Some of his notable projects include the U.S. Supreme Court, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Yale University School of Medicine, the U.S. Naval Academy, and James Madison's Montpelier. He received his undergraduate degree in architecture at Virginia Tech. |

Arthur Bartenstein, ASLA Senior Associate, Landscape Architect Our senior landscape architect, Arthur has been practicing for nearly 20 years with firms such as California-based Peter Walker and Partners, SWA Group (San Francisco), and Hill Studio (Roanoke.) Past clients include private estates, Boca Raton Hotel and Club in Florida, the Roanoke Hotel and Conference Center, and numerous university campuses including Stanford, Washington & Lee, VMI, and Virginia Tech. Arthur's work has received numerous honors including four national and three state American Society of Landscape Architecture Awards. He is a graduate of Harvard University Graduate School of Design and received his undergraduate degree from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. |

Thomas C. Clayton, AIA, NCARB Senior Associate, Architect A senior project manager, Tom offers strong project management skills particularly in the area of complex, fast track, or multi-phased projects. Tom specializes in both new construction and historic rehabilitation projects. As a project manager for more than 20 years for major regional projects, Tom brings a great depth of experience in the public/institutional and commercial projects sectors. Before joining Frazier Associates, Tom was a Project Manager for Moseley Architects, and before that for Odell, an international practice. Tom graduated with a Bachelors of Architecture from Virginia Tech. |

Jean Anne Clemmer Administrative Assistant In addition to her duties as receptionist, Jean Anne performs a wide range of administrative support functions. She graduated with an Associate degree from Ferrum College. |

Robbie Davis Office Manager As the office manager for Frazier Associates, Robbie is responsible for coordinating administrative staff support for 17 employees. This entails maintaining supplies and equipment, performing receptionist duties, drafting and laying out reports, database management, and maintenance of an archival system. She also works closely with the Marketing Director in assembling proposals and business development packets. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from James Madison University. |

Carter A. Green, AIA Senior Associate, Architect As one of Frazier Associates' senior project managers, Carter's area of focus is historic architecture, rehabilitation tax credit projects, and adaptive re-use projects. He has a strong working relationship with regional and local building officials, contractors, and representatives of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. Carter joined Frazier Associates in 1995; previously he was a project manager for Einhorn Yaffee Prescott, a large historic preservation firm in Washington DC. Carter holds a Master of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech and an undergraduate degree from Rhodes College. |

Sandy Hanger, SEGD Wayfinding Project Manager A member of the Society for Environmental Graphic Design, Sandy specializes in the design and installation of community wayfinding programs. She has created regional and community specific sign systems, as well as pedestrian and kiosk signs. Recent clients include the Historic Triangle Wayfinding Group, the Town of Leesburg, and the City of Winchester. Sandy is also the graphic designer for all Frazier Associates' publications, illustrations, photo simulations, presentation graphics and maps. Sandy Hanger has a Bachelor's of Science degree with a concentration in Graphic Design from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. |

Chris Jenkins, AIA, NCARB Senior Associate, Architect An exceptional designer, Chris has focused his career on residential projects. After spending three years living and working in downtown Savannah, Georgia, he returned to his native southside Virginia where he was a partner in a small firm, Winthrop Jenkins, in Farmville. He joined Frazier Associates as a senior project manager to specialize exclusively in residential scale projects. His design strength comes from an admiration and respect for the simplicity and beauty of vernacular buildings. His work has been featured in magazines such as This Old House and The New Old House. Chris holds a Masters of Architecture from Virginia Tech, and an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University. |

Susan Lancaster Architectural Staff Susan Lancaster works on all aspects of architectural projects, including design, project management, and production of construction documents. She is also skilled in producing hand renderings and colorized sketches. Although cross-trained in a variety of project areas, Susan Lancaster has developed a specialty in historic architecture, especially as it relates to revitalization of historic districts and custom residential design. She is a specialist in design assistance with the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Main Street Program. She has an undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University, and a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech. |

Annie Mathot Architectural Staff Annie comes to Frazier Associates after five years with the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based Urban Design Associates where she focused on large-scale urban design projects. Her experience includes corridor plans, revitalization and investment plans and neighborhood pattern books as well as military housing development and historic rural village initiatives. She is proficient in both technical and freehand drawing and rendering as well as industry-standard computer programs. She is a graduate of the University of Miami's School of Architecture. |

Katharine Moore Director of Marketing and Business Development Kathy directs marketing and public relations activities for the firm. She also provides market analysis and revitalization strategies for commercial business districts in Virginia's historic downtowns as an additional service for Frazier Associates' community development clients. She has particular expertise in improving capture rate of tourism market segments. Prior to joining Frazier Associates, Kathy Moore was employed by The Rouse Company, a national real estate development and management company, as well as MITHUN Architecture in Seattle, and HOK Architects in Washington DC. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. |

Madeline Pinckney Graphic Designer Madeline is a relatively new member of our graphic design team, bringing fourteen years of design experience. She has worked on a wide range of projects, including community wayfinding, environmental graphics, and digital and print projects. Her expertise includes generating details, materials, colors, typography, and specifications. She is skilled in QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Illustrator, and a host of other graphic applications. Prior to joining Frazier Associates, Madeline worked as a graphic designer in Virginia and New Hampshire. |

Mike Riddle CAD Drafter Mike is trained in a variety of Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications and completes presentation renderings and construction documents for various office projects. He has worked part-time for Mary Baldwin as an adjunct instructor teaching the design students computer-aided drafting. Mike Riddle is a graduate of Blue Ridge Community College with a certificate in drafting and a certificate in architectural drafting from Valley Vocational Technical School. |

Beth Scripps Architectural Historian As Frazier Associates' research historian, Beth combines her background in historic preservation with writing, editing and research skills honed by years in the newspaper industry. Her primary responsibilities are historic research and writing including National Register nominations, design guidelines, rehabilitation tax credit assistance, and historic structure reports. In addition, she conducts preliminary research for many of the historic architecture projects the firm undertakes. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Historic Preservation from Mary Washington College. |

Bill Trapp CAD Drafter Bill is trained in a variety of Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications for both landscape and architectural projects. He specializes in technical details for large-scale commercial projects. He also has experience in the documentation of existing structures through the use of photogrammetry. Prior to joining Frazier Associates, Bill worked for Lantz Construction doing Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD). He has an Associate of Architecture degree from West Virginia State University. |
