
William T. Frazier, AICP -- Principal
Co-founder of Frazier Associates, Bill’s area of specialty is in urban planning with an emphasis on design guidelines and corridor studies throughout the southeastern United States. Bill is a frequent speaker at local and regional conferences on community planning; his projects have been recognized for excellence with awards at the national and state level. Bill is also an architectural historian, and has spent more than 30 years integrating his community revitalization expertise with his background in historic preservation. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Bill went on to get a Masters of Planning and a Masters of Architectural History.

Kathleen O. Frazier, AIA -- Principal
Kathy is co-founder of the firm and is the Principal-in-Charge of architectural projects. She has extensive experience in historic preservation and community redevelopment projects. She currently oversees the design services for the Virginia Main Street Program, an affiliate of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s National Main Street Center. Her projects have won numerous design awards, including a national Palladio Award as well as ones from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Preservation Alliance of Virginia (PAV), and the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities (APVA). Her work has been featured in a broad range of magazines including Virginia Living, Traditional Building, Urban Land and Southern Living. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s architecture program.

A senior project manager with more than 20 years experience, Tom offers strong project management skills particularly in the area of complex, fast track, or multi-phased projects. Tom is one of three Frazier Associates architects who have earned LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation as administered by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED Accredited Professionals have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System. Tom specializes in both new construction and historic rehabilitation projects with emphasis in the public/institutional and commercial projects sectors. Tom graduated with a Bachelors of Architecture from Virginia Tech.

As one of Frazier Associates’ senior project managers, Carter’s area of focus is historic architecture, rehabilitation tax credit projects, and adaptive re-use projects. Carter is one of the first architects at the firm to earn LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation as administered by the U.S. Green Building Council. Carter has a strong working relationship with regional and local building officials, contractors, and representatives of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. Joining Frazier Associates in 1995, Carter holds a Master of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech and an undergraduate degree from Rhodes College.

After spending three years living and working in downtown Savannah, Georgia, he returned to his native southside Virginia where he was a partner in a small firm, Winthrop Jenkins, in Farmville. His design strength comes from an admiration and respect for the simplicity and beauty of vernacular buildings. His work has been featured in magazines such as This Old House and The New Old House. Chris holds a Masters of Architecture from Virginia Tech and an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University.

Although cross-trained in a variety of project types, she has developed a specialty in historic architecture and facade improvement as it relates to revitalization of historic and downtown commercial districts. Susan utilizes SketchUp software to create 3-D models which enhance rehabilitation and revitalization projects. She is a specialist in design assistance with the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Main Street Program. She has an undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University, and a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech.

Annie is one of three Frazier Associates architects who have earned LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation as administered by the U.S. Green Building Council. She is proficient in both technical and freehand drawing and rendering as well as industry-standard computer programs. She is a graduate of the University of Miami’s School of Architecture.

Deneen D. Brannock -- Designer
With more than 20 years in the design industry, Deneen offers a wide range of services for both residential and commercial clients. An interior designer by training, Deneen also specializes in the rehabilitation of historic buildings. She also assists clients with historic rehabilitation tax credit applications. Deneen honed her preservation skills as a facade improvement program coordinator for Historic Staunton Foundation and subsequently an Executive Director. Deneen is a graduate of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s “Preservation Leadership Training Program.” A thoughtful blending of new and old, and careful attention to detail and quality are defining themes throughout her work. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from James Madison University.

Her primary responsibilities are historic research and writing including National Register nominations, design guidelines, rehabilitation tax credit applications, and historic structure reports. In addition, she conducts preliminary research for many of the historic architecture projects the firm undertakes. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Historic Preservation from Mary Washington College.
As Frazier Associates’ research historian, Beth combines her background in historic preservation with writing, editing and research skills. A member of the Society for Environmental Graphic Design, Sandy specializes in the design and installation of community wayfinding programs. She has created regional and community specific sign systems, as well as pedestrian and kiosk signs. Sandy is also the graphic designer for all Frazier Associates’ publications, illustrations, photo simulations, presentation graphics and maps. Sandy Hanger has a Bachelor’s of Science degree with a concentration in Graphic Design from James Madison University.

She is skilled in QuarkXpress, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and a host of other graphic applications. Prior to joining Frazier Associates, Madeline worked as a graphic designer in Virginia and New Hampshire.

He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

As the newest member of the Frazier Associates team, Chris directs marketing and public relations activities for the firm. Chris originally hails from Los Angeles and brings with her over a decade of marketing experience. Her expertise in weaving together client expectations with the firm’s services results in projects which run efficiently and have lasting satisfaction for all involved. Prior to joining Frazier Associates, Chris was an independent marketing consultant for non-profit organizations in the Shenandoah Valley. She is an alumna of Bryn Mawr College and lives on a working Century Farm in Augusta County.

In addition to her duties as receptionist, Jean Anne performs a wide range of administrative support functions which enable the office to run smoothly and efficiently. She works with the Office Manager and Marketing Director preparing business development proposals and marketing materials. She graduated with an Associate degree from Ferrum College.
